Fields and behaviour
Choose the benefit type first, then fill in the values required for that type. Percentage off, fixed discount and special price describe different benefits.
Set the start/end date or ongoing option and confirm the timezone. Specify what the offer applies to, terms and redemption instructions.
Audience and redemption options include future membership features; use only currently available options. Total/per-customer limits, minimum purchase and stacking describe eligibility.
Every field explained
- Offer title
- Write a specific public title that identifies the subject. Avoid a title consisting only of a promotion code or internal label.
- Campaign label
- A label for organizing the campaign. It is separate from the public offer title.
- Short description
- Summarize what the customer gets and who it is for. This text is used on cards and as a description in discovery.
- Full description
- Explain what is included, how it works and what the customer should know before taking action. A short summary does not replace this detail.
- Terms and conditions
- State exclusions, qualifying purchases, eligibility and other conditions clearly. The benefit text alone does not describe these rules.
- Redemption instructions
- Write the actual steps a customer follows to receive the benefit, including where to present a code or offer.
- Offer type
- Choose the actual promotion mechanism first. The selected type determines which value fields must be filled in.
- Percentage off
- Enter the discount percentage, not a currency amount. For example, 20 represents a twenty-percent discount.
- Amount off
- Enter the amount deducted in the selected currency. This differs from the final selling price.
- Regular price
- The usual price before the promotion. Keep it consistent with the item and currency used for the offer.
- Offer price
- Enter the promotional price the customer pays, using the selected currency.
- Buy quantity
- For a buy-X-get-Y offer, specify how many units must be purchased.
- Get quantity
- Specify the number of additional units received in a buy-X-get-Y offer.
- Discount on received items (%)
- Set the discount on the received items; it is distinct from the number of items received.
- Quantity
- Specify the number of units covered by the combined price.
- Combined price
- Enter the combined price for the specified quantity, not the price of one unit.
- Bundle price
- Enter the promotional price of the complete bundle and explain its contents in the description.
- Minimum spend
- For a benefit requiring a spend threshold, enter the threshold associated with that benefit type.
- Cashback or credit
- Enter the cashback or credit value and explain its conditions and use in the offer description.
- Currency
- Select the currency used for the monetary values. A number without a currency does not fully describe the benefit.
- Custom benefit
- Explain a custom benefit in clear customer-facing language instead of relying on an internal campaign name.
- Applicability
- Choose the whole business or the specific products, services or locations where the promotion applies.
- Custom applicability
- Describe exactly what is covered when using custom applicability.
- Start date and time
- The date and time the scheduled offer begins, interpreted in the selected timezone.
- End date and time
- The scheduled expiry date and time. Check that it follows the start and matches the promotion terms.
- Timezone
- Confirm the timezone before setting dates. The same clock time in different timezones represents a different actual moment.
- Audience
- Choose an available audience option. Membership-related options may be reserved for future features.
- Redemption method
- Tell the customer how to use the offer: show it, use a public coupon, or follow an external link when available.
- Public coupon code
- Provide the public coupon required by the selected redemption method. Explain where the customer uses it.
- External redemption URL
- Use the public destination relevant to the source or redemption action shown beside this field. Check its instructions before entering a URL.
- Total limit
- Limit the total permitted uses for the whole promotion if applicable.
- Per-customer limit
- Limit permitted uses per customer if the campaign requires it. Do not confuse this with the total campaign limit.
- Minimum purchase
- Set the qualifying purchase amount if required. Explain the condition in the terms as well.
- Maximum discount
- Specify the maximum monetary discount if the offer has a cap. This is separate from the percentage.
- Allow this offer to be combined with other promotions
- State whether this promotion can be used with another promotion. Keep the terms consistent with the switch.
- Main image
- Upload the image that represents this item on its card and detail view. Publishing requires a main image in this module.
- Gallery images
- Use the gallery for useful additional views. Each image should add information, rather than repeat the same view.
- Video URL
- Enter a public video link. This is a URL field, not a video-file upload control.
- Status
- Keep Draft while preparing content. Published requests publication and still requires all server validation rules to pass.
- Ongoing offer (no expiry date)
- Use this for an ongoing offer without scheduled start or expiry. It becomes active on publication until paused, canceled or archived.
Before you continue
Publishing requires complete English content, a valid benefit and schedule, and a main image.
Worked example
Example: “20% off selected services this week” uses Percentage off with value 20, the relevant service selection, the intended start/end dates and timezone. Explain exclusions and the redemption steps in Terms and Redemption instructions. The number 20 is not a twenty-dollar discount.
